Dr James G Colebatch DSc FRACP

James is the head of Department of Neurology, Prince of Wales Hospital and Professor (Conjoint) POWH Clinical School, University of New South Wales.
During training as a neurologist James completed a PhD in motor control and subsequently undertook postgraduate neurological training and research in London, the latter at the MRC Movement and Balance Unit and the MRC Cyclotron Unit (PET).

He has published extensively on the properties of short latency vestibular reflexes – vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) and described both the cervical VEMP and ocular VEMP.  These techniques have enabled non-invasive investigation of otolith reflex pathways both in normal subjects and in disease.
