Wednesday 1May | 16:00 Plenary three: Panel: Launch of the ACEM Strategy Manaaki Mana: Excellence in Emergency Care for Māori |
Dr Kate Anson
Kate Anson is an emergency medicine specialist at Middlemore Hospital, South Auckland, passionate about providing better care to the diverse community we serve. Although I was born in London (UK) of Anglo-Celtic and Italian heritage, I fell in love with Aoteroa NZ 30 years ago on my first visit & have been lucky to call this country my home for 17 years. My medical degree is from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and my specialist training was undertaken in Christchurch, Auckland and Alice Springs. Learning te reo Māori has led me on a journey to a deeper understanding of te Ao Māori and the struggles of Māori patients & whānau to receive respectful and equitable care. I am honoured to have been involved with Manaaki Mana and am committed to seeing its implementation.
